and my understanding (feeble as it might be) was that this was the long standing and universal practice for direct deposits. Different groups receiving on different Wednesdays .. but Wed. deposit remains the common denominator. And - I know mine are always on a Wednesday.

SSI is deposited the 1st day of the month, then 2nd 3rd, 4th Wed. depending on your birthday.
1st – 10th Second Wednesday of the month
11th – 20th Third Wednesday of the month
21st – 31st Fourth Wednesday of the month

I don't know if people collecting before 1997 continued to get their check on the 3rd of the month.

11. My father, born in 1930, continued to get his on the third, but my mother (1939) had her date changed.

I was getting mine on the fourth Wednesday, but when I qualified for Medicare (and also Medicaid), it was changed to the third of every month. I'm not sure why, they never really gave a solid answer except that it might be due to the Medicaid, which apparently is paid on the third of the month. Seems kind of crazy, but whatever.

I just hope this was a bank delay for mgardener, and that the check goes through. I'm worried about my March check, I have a huge electric bill to pay, and I hate for my son to end up paying all our bills. I like to do my part, and that won't happen without my SS check.

always got theirs on the 3rd before they passed. They were born in the early 1930’s. I get mine on the 3rd as well because I was on disability before 1997. Now I am on regular SS, and I still get it on the 3rd.

or don't arrive for one reason or another and even now they can not necessarily be attributed to Musk. So don't buy into trouble that may not even exist yet.
