Where, oh where is the left wing big money - why do we have no major mass media on our side?

Are the only big money players interested in political information right wing nuts? MAGAs?

The Fairness Doctrine was torpedoed a long time ago. There is no excuse for the extreme dominance of well funded disinformation in this country.

There are a few other tech billionaires who owned newspapers or magazines and (maybe no longer) leaned liberal. I think Soros has many radio stations.

But yes, we are way behind and we do not have all of the random tv stations, radio stations, podcasts, and streamers they do.

It's always been an illusion, indulgences rather than true civil rights.

White middle class men especially were elevated so long as they didn't make trouble.

But all along they too were serfs and slaves.

are frightened by Trump and have therefore tightened their purse strings. Political content today is dominated by podcasts and social media, and that is overwhelmingly dominated by the right. One bit of good news is that Meidas Touch has overtaken Joe Rogan in the ratings.

and most of them are libertarian and alt-right types who love Trump. It so follows that they script their algorithms towards RW messaging and influencers. IOW, it isn't organic at all - and why we need rich liberals (maybe like Gates, Soros, Buffett) to step up and fund liberal platforms so our message can get through.

Most people left of center get their political news from major media sources

The Harris campaign far outraised Trump and there is some argument about who has the billionaires with the deepest pockets. Billionaires turning off the money spigot had a lot to do with Biden dropping out of the race.

and a lot of Trump's money came from Musk very late in the campaign when it was less useful.

TV is selling eyeballs, and the internet is about clicks, just how it is. Unless you learn to read and filter information you are going to get a skewed perspective.

Frankly anyone who watches TV or videos to be informed isn't. When someone suggests I watch a vid or clip from a TV show I scroll on by, that's how unserious they are. Most of the thought leaders are writing on substack and of the top 20 stacks they are overwhelmingly of the left.

Politics has a way of punishing those who aren't honest with themselves. Self delusion ends when that first vote is cast.
