NoShit...

BREAKING: Donald Trump is reportedly furious because his latest threats to leave NATO have backfired as European leaders are proposing to replace the US in NATO with Ukraine, start curb stomping Russia all together, and then make Trump utterly irrelevant in all the negotiations.

There’s been talk that Germany may create its own nuke program, but I don’t see many other countries in Europe that would be candidates to follow suit. Maybe the Finns, given their history with Russia.

So although Ukraine had custody of some nukes, they weren't Ukraine's to keep and use.

Nevertheless, Ukraine gave them up because the West talked them into it with a security guarantee.

Pulling it would be a massive "I Love You Putin" from Trump..............besides Turkey losing the U.S. Protection from Putin.

When the North Atlantic Treaty was signed in 1949, no provision was included for removing a member state. The U.S. could only be removed as a member state if it fails to follow the duties set forth by the NATO treaty.

that the president cannot unilaterally withdraw America from NATO without an act of Congress, or unless two-thirds of the Senate concur. Trump still believes he has the right to withdraw unilaterally, relying on the Constitution which states the president has the power to negotiate treaties. The Constitution, however, doesn't say the president has the power to break treaties. Like every crazy thing Trump does, this will end up in the courts.

Trump could "Quiet Quit" NATO, refusing to participate in any way, and effectively ending the United States' involvement. No one really knows how that would work. Trump might withdraw from active participation in NATO, but still try to veto Ukraine joining the alliance. Russia would like that.

Someone needs to tell him that the SCOTUS immunity decision only shields him from criminal prosecution. He seems to think that immunity = omnipotence.

I would like to start a movement to leave the former United States and become a protectorate of Canada and NATO. I would like to extend this to the non-contiguous portions of the former USA and the coastal state territories that would also join in such an effort.

There is a conceivable way to both break up the USA AND ensure mutual assured destruction remains as the worldwide nuclear deterrent that has prevented nuclear war for 80 years...

I don't want any part of the USA any longer. I refuse to support a lawless country with lawless appointees and gutless, craven political hacks and thieves lining their pockets while the once proud nation sinks into chaos and ruin. I'll take my chances as a satellite state of the EU or Canada or Mexico or a NATO signatory.

In the last election we won back our right to an abortion, but all our legislature seems to do is try to find ways to overturn this state constitutional amendment. Our state has so many other problems, but denying women healthcare seems to be all the Christo-Facists focus on. I am so tired of all the hate and misogyny, but my husband's job is keeping us here for the foreseeable future.
