they would be talking to ground control, the plane landing to the tower. As I understand it, the small jet was not cleared by ground to taxi across the runway.

but to be put into context, "near-miss" were at record levels in 2023 (1,700) and in 2024 with over 1,100 incidences in the US.

Not that it won't get worse with the tinkering by the aristocrats (or rather the aristocats)

I do it when I have to. It is definitely riskier since the know-nothing idiots took over the government. I plan to avoid flying if at all possible.
