Most of us are disappointed with Schumer's anemic performance against the administration and their actions and many are calling for his replacement. So, which senator could take over from the current crop?
Warren? Sanders? It's a given we want someone with some fire in the belly yet be a great leader and have the know how when it comes to senate procedures to be a valid foil for the Republicans.
Who would be a great replacement?

(2,020 posts)Schumer has no stage presence and no charisma. He is the absolutely wrong person to go up against a TV media personality president. We need someone like Warren who will fight.

(18,609 posts)And issuing Democratic opposition statements beginning with the words "Whitehouse says...":would confuse MAGA morons.
He did a great virtual Town Hall last week.
He floated the idea of a "War Room". Apparently he did so previously, but Biden shot it down.
He doesn't just talk in rhetoric and platitudes - he is a great explainer.

(60,965 posts)Can you list even one Senator? He did a very good job as majority leader with Pelosi as Speaker. He also blocked virtually everything pushed by the Republican House.
The primary job of being leader now is strategy to do the best with the cards we hold in stopping bad things. The leader works with as many Senators as he can get on an issue. Almost all that work is behind the scenes.
ANY of several prominent Senators, past officials, Governors etc can speak out on TV, social media or in public meetings. For instance, name any Democrat able to do what Bernie Sanders is doing in mostly red states. Who is more fiery than Jasmine Crockett on left leaning media?

(68,952 posts)Whitehouse is fearless particularly regarding the supremes.
Murphy is fearless on a broader range of issues.
Whitehouse is 69, Murphy is 51.
Neither, however, have the baggage or targets on their backs that some other Dems do.
-Warren has been fearlessly outspoken, but as a result carries baggage
-Sanders is not a Democrat, so he's out for that, as a merely a start
-Schumer comes off a milquetoasty, true or not; he does,'t inspire and doesn't *appear* to have fire in his belly.
-Booker is just too nice. A gentleman first.
I'll come down for Murphy and his age is a huge factor. He is young and shows it!!
