This was apparently the SECOND time this meeting was canceled. It has not been rescheduled and probably RFKJr halted it.

FDA cuts directly affected human food safety personnel — some resigned due to the cuts - because they could no longer do the job. And Don Jr’s idiot hunting buddy who promoted eating raw marmot is being put over food safety at FDA. The firings were another Muskrat fuck-up, so now they are trying to hire the employees back. So our food is no longer safe.

ALSO, money targeted to go to Moderna to develop an MRNA H1N1 (bird flu) vaccine was halted.

Development of a COVID pill was halted.

And a program to study some other nasty stuff (that I can't remember the name of, but it comes from eating nasty stuff like raw marmot) was canceled.

Flu vaccine prevents 5-10k deaths a year.

It's controlled by antibiotics like doxycycline. Just since you asked about it I thought I'd throw this in. It's not the problem it used to be. The only issue would be the same as with all dangerous bacteria. It could gain resistance to antibiotics due to general overuse.

I seem to remember that marmot has been known to be a host for the plague. They're so distant from us I wouldn't think it's a problem unless, of course, you go messing around with them. Eating one raw you could set yourself up for a lot of things including plague. No doubt you could get pretty sick. Wild rodents aren't exactly the safest meat source. Now there's bird flu to think about. AntiBs may kill off the plague, but bird flu mutations, no such luck.

29. The biggest problem with all this is that the lack of vaccines

will encourage mutations throughout the population. The open viruses especially like SARS, MERS etc.will mutate and spread uninhibited and with greater speed. Closed viruses like the flu will do the same though likely at a slower rate. It's those SARS/MERS viruses that have the possibility of wiping out hundreds of millions, even billions. Then there's Smallpox which killed large portions of the human race in ancient times. It is on it's way back already. Tuberculosis is coming back, another bacterium needing more antibiotics. Add the antiB resistant staph among others, the list goes on.
Even with all the science we've had at our disposal, it was an uphill climb ahead of us. But now ... it's hard to grasp what's ahead of us now.
