That Five Million Dollar Gold Card

No sane person on this planet who has US$5million dollars needs US citizenship.
There are very few such persons and they have no interest in moving to MAGAtland,

What a load of crap.

China immediately comes to mind as a market.

There are a lot of wealthy individuals there who would love to get out of the reach of their government and/or creditors.

China's economic situation is unstable, they are facing a major debt crisis, and the chinese government will be looking for scapegoats.

The better question is are the people who would be willing to pay for one the kind of people we want in this country? I doubt it - people who made their money though legitimate means probably won't want one because of the tax implications on offshore income.

with trump and musk running wild, the market crashing, inflation rising, as are job losses because of DOGE, unrest growing as musk has usurped Congressional, and frankly, presidential power.

There are much better destination options in Europe which has robust social networks for healthcare, educational opportunities and just quality of life issues...see the Nordic countries and other European societies. Canada even (not the 51st state).

That gold card crapola is just more of trump's mentally delining insanity as no sentient being would want to come and immerse themselves into this trump/muck chaos.

But it depends on your definition of insanity whether criminality is a strong indication of insanity.

Regardless, people who can get in by regular means have done so by now (of course newly eligible people age into eligibility or achieve skills all the time). Honest (a gradated term) business people have many ways to get in and make business at the same time.

So the people who would have $5 million ready cash but can't get in by regular means ... criminals.

Seems a more "efficient" use of "gubmint" funds.

Let's start with all the MAGAts on Medicaid, or at least the ones with mom in a Nursing Home being paid for with Medicaid.

I hear Moscow is beautiful this time of year. Hell, Putin will even offer a nice trip to Ukraine, or a flight out of a window.

21. East Asia has about a million people who have enough money
Thu Feb 27, 2025, 09:19 AM
Feb 2025

They earn it with businesses, the same as here. Asian millionaires own car dealerships and banks, Seven Elevens and construction companies.

Current EB5 visas are restricted to 7% per country, and the wait time is five or more years. China has by far the most millionaires waiting to come here and no way to enter as the visas for China are already gone. The cost for attorneys and accountants to set up a qualifying business is formidable. EB5 visas are bogus.

Generally millionaires are people who start businesses. The US is not a good place for criminals to use as a home. Our police are not corrupt compared to most places in the developing world.

I assume most here haven't had a business. When you write a check and it is to the "US Treasury" that is the general fund, that's where checks are written to. You don't get to pick and choose which agency to write a check to.

I would say more but the last time I did someone got upset and called it "right wing talking points" Only limited information accepted here.

…people whose money not so long ago belonged to entire nations and now need a place to enjoy their loot, booty and ill-gotten gains. “High Net Worth Individuals” is how some demographers call these crooks.p

FBI once reported Mogilevich pioneered the system in the late 80s, helping people escape (religious with money) and emigrate (connected with money) the USSR to Israel. Weren’t for Powerful President Putin, Mogilevich might still today sit atop the Russian Mafiya.

Canada, I understand, once offered residency and a path to citizenship for those forking over a half-million dollars. Lots of people from Chy-nah and Hong Kong today love hockey. Unstable Moron who needs a toilet capable of handling a pantload ten times bigger than others had fElon do the math and scale the grift appropriately.

Comes out to 125 billion. Nothing close enough to pay off a year's worth of the national debt -- most of which comes from tax breaks heaped upon Trump and his parasitic billionaire chums since Ronald Reagan bet the future of the dollar upon Trickle Down Voodoo Economics.

These bastards have had a long while making bank off dope. Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, law enforcement's main villains were the South American Cocaine Kings and their partners in the American mafia. They were so successful that they couldn't launder the cash, hiding bricks of Benjamins in the walls of safe houses.

"The Latin American drug cartels have stretched their tentacles much deeper into our lives than most people believe. It's possible they are calling the shots at all levels of government." -- William Colby, former Director CIA.

What Semion Mogilevich and the mafiya have done is move international crime to the 21st century, computerizing operations, etc. Russian oil? They got it all. Russian aluminum? They got it all. Russian lumber? They got it all. And it all figuratively fell off a truck somewhere along the supply chain. They actually rigged the system so anyone with any power has to be corrupt. It's now come to the United States of America.

David Stockman, former Michigan GOP Congressman and Reagan's first budget director, said ours are the wealthiest times in human history. In 2007 or so, Stockman estimated 7/8 of all the wealth ever created in human history (he added up the GDPs and estimated what the gold in the old days amounted to) had been made since 1981. Thanks to GOP tax policies that shelter the rich's wealth, most all of that new wealth lines the pockets of the 1-percent of 1-percent.

Nothing more "exclusive" than the club with money. For those with dough, they forgive most anything for those who have it. It's like a religion that way. And the greed may have cost the planet democracy, the rule of law, and real liberty.
