There's a go along to get along feeling, and it's absolutely clear UPS utilizes its relationship with the union to keep employees in line.

Back in Hoffa's day a Teamsters' strike could bring all commerce to a standstill. No more.

6. The real problem started when workers started to listen to right wing radio

and were convinced to vote for politicians hell bent on weakening and getting rid of unions - and you couldn't convince them otherwise even to their own detriment. So here we are. It only took 40 years but it's almost finished.
