(80,442 posts)In Feb. 2020, I bought 50 3-M n-95s for $26, including shipping. Within 3 weeks, the identical box was selling like hotcakes for $750 on ebay!
I still have a good supply, but prob not enough to outlast Komrad Kraznov's take over & destruction.

(114,656 posts)Theres going to be a plague, a nuclear event, a Civil War or race war eventually, so lets make it happen sooner and let the elites like him rule the depopulated globe as they envision.
This is why they built compounds for themselves. Why some of these weirdos are having so many babies with different women. Why they have built up private personal armies.

(13,474 posts)So its better to deny them flu vaccine and hope many of them get sick and die. We ate quickly becoming a third-world corrupt dictatorship.

(28,493 posts)to believe that Republicans will blithely allow their elderly mothers to die from flu.

(3,941 posts)Maybe those Republicans believe that, even before the flu vaccine, a mere 40,000 people a year died from flu. I've seen that number bandied about.
So ho-hum. A perfectly "meh" number.
I mean, that makes for really good odds your specific mother is not going to die, right?
PoindexterOglethorpe
(28,493 posts)But yeah, the very vast majority of people do not die from flu.

(347 posts)And actually farcical. I had to do some research after seeing these headlines. While its true, the meeting was cancelled with no reason given. The part they left out was the part where they said a recommendation would be made in time for the 2025/26 season.
Actually the boards recommendations are pretty hit and miss anyways, with more miss than hit. Fwiw, KAISER PERMANENTE claims the Interim data on flu vaccine efficacy demonstrates 35% vaccine effectiveness, which is on the lower end of an expected efficacy range.

(186 posts)It's important to note that flu vaccine effectiveness can vary annually, typically ranging from 40% to 60%, depending on factors such as the match between vaccine strains and circulating viruses.
AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
Despite potential variations in effectiveness, health officials continue to recommend annual flu vaccination for everyone aged six months and older. Vaccination remains a crucial tool in reducing the severity of illness, preventing hospitalizations, and decreasing the spread of influenza within communities.

(20,354 posts)Would I like it a lot higher? Yep.
But 35% with a shot is a lot better than 0% without one.

(347 posts)In early October, finally succumbed to the flu 2 weeks ago. Still have a slight cough but otherwise Im back to normal. I guess my point was, they will still release a recommendation. And even if they dont there will still be a vaccine according to the article I linked to. So there is no need for people to become apoplectic over this story.
