that they will be able to rig every presidential election from here on out. As Rump bragged in the final days before the election, they don't need the MAGAs' votes, they have all the votes they need because Elon "knows those vote counting machines."
And if messing with the election machines in the swing states doesn't work, then they can pull off their fake electors trick again, this time making it stick, since they are installing Rump loyalists at the National Archives and the National Archives play a role in the Electoral College proceedings on Election Day.
Here is a recent AP article (Feb. 26, 2025) about Rump and Musk replacing the head of the National Archives. It mainly talks about the threat to our archived documents, but it is true that the National Archives does play a key role in the Electoral College process during presidential elections, which is scary AF now.
The whole article is worth a read, but here is an excerpt:

WASHINGTON (AP) As President Donald Trump moves to overhaul the federal government with astonishing speed, he has wreaked havoc on one agency long known for its nonpartisanship and revered for its mission: the National Archives and Records Administration.
[...]
Earlier this month, the Republican president abruptly fired the head archivist. Since then, several senior staffers at the Archives have quit or retired. An unknown number of staffers at the agency also have accepted government-offered deferred resignations, often known as buyouts, or been fired because of their probationary status.
[...]
What influence could a new archivist have?
The person leading the National Archives has discretion over which records to preserve and how. The risk is that an archivist whose primary loyalty is to Trump could be biased in those decisions, leaving behind a skewed picture of history for future generations, according to several past employees of the Archives who talked to the AP.
[...]
The Office of the Federal Register reviews the electoral certificates sent in from the states. The archivist wouldnt have the authority to force the office to reject a slate of electors but could disrupt the process, said Daniel Weiner, director of the Brennan Centers elections and government program.

(3,494 posts)Democrats were saying that if we lose this election there may not be another one.
that was why Trump at all his rallies was saying:
"Vote or me in this election, and you won't ever have to vote again"
Trump Humpers didn't even begin to understand what he ACTUALLY AND TRULY meant by this statement...........
AND, I am guessing that there were many other voters who didn't begin to understand what a bomb shell threat this was........
One of Hitler's accomplices stated: It matters not what the voters vote, it only matters who *counts the votes*

(13,003 posts)has shown us, that doesn't matter, as witnessed in Florida, during the 2000 election. The state's law dictated a re-count of the ballots,
(which would ultimately show, after the fact that Gore won), and the re-count was halted by the USSC, and the presidency was "thrown" to WBush.
The USSC, legally had not a leg to stand on when they interjected themselves into that state's election. And that established a legal precedent for the USSC to be able to intercede in State's Rights anytime, from there forwards. Especially concerning Elections.....
The Dems didn't raise hell with what happened in the 1980 election, the 2000 election, the 2004, election, the 2016 election, or the 2024 election............
And their voters were just walking down the jungle path, swatting at mosquitoes, oblivious to the herd of charging elephants.....

(13,460 posts)I would think that Dominion makes security updates for machines purchased by states. Would they not also have the right to make sure no one has tampered with their programs, especially in swing states like Michigan where the governor could give them permission if needed. Their reputation for delivering verifiable results is on the line, and I think many people would feel better if at least some machines were checked for unofficial code. Fr programmers here, is it possible to track whether unofficial code was added and then later deleted?

(2,718 posts)in 2028, they know they will be able to crank out the propaganda, and use the electoral college, gerrymandering, voter suppression, to major effect. The right-wing propaganda just by itself is enormously powerful.
