PepsiCo Announces Major Plant Closure, Layoffs

https://www.newsweek.com/pepsico-announces-major-plant-closure-layoffs-2037207

Pepsico, a snack and beverage giant that owns 23 brands, announced that a Frito-Lay plant in Liberty, New York, will close at the end of spring, laying off nearly 300 people.

Snip

The plant has been a notable employer in the region for at least three decades, and the mass layoffs are likely to impact the town's economy.

Layoffs are occurring across industries right now, with significant cuts to the federal workforce, one of the nation's largest employers. The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits hit a three-month high last week, according to the latest report from the Labor Department published Thursday.

The plant, located in a town of around 10,000 people in New York's Catskill Mountains, produces the popular corn chips, PopCorners.

Like eating cardboard. 😓

Popcorners sound equally unappealing. I thought maybe they were some fab flavor of popcorn. Lol

Ty for explaining.

The samples at Costco sometimes help to convince people to buy something they wouldn't have otherwise tried... and it ALSO helps to prevent REGRET of many folks who may have been willing to take a chance... but then regret it when they get home.

This time it's the beginning of shithole's 2nd term.

So, in other words, $22 for five 12-packs. $4.40/ea is a decent price, provided you want that much soda all at once and are up to wrangling that many containers.

I do love my soda.
