chick-fil-a was a trailblazer in bringing Christ-fascism into the American business model and helping to normalize Christo-fascism in American culture.
Please boycott chick-fil-a (if you haven't already). chick-fil-a is a poison. I have not eaten there in 7 or 8 years now because the bad taste it leaves lingers on forever!
I saw a commercial for chick-fil-a today for the first time. I am hoping they have to advertise because of declining sales and profits.
PLEASE, NEVER EAT AT CHICK-FIL-A AGAIN!

(18,708 posts)Chick-filet on DORA THE EXPLORER DAY! Tons of little kiddos running amok and the floor sticky with spilled soda. I never went in there again.
The same thing happened when I tried the much touted Waffle House. One grandkid was a baby in a carrier so we go in there to eat..put the carrier next to us on the floor and there are ANTS EVERYWHERE!!!! It was so disgusting i was thiiiis close to calling a health inspector until our waitress who was about 100 came over and waited on us. We decided to stay and eat cuz we were the ONLY ones in there. We moved to a less infested table.. I didnt call to report them as between the waitress and the cook there werent a full set of teeth and I figured they really needed their jobs.
But never again did I eat at Waffle House....or CF and I'll talk about my experiences at Piggly Wiggly some other day.

(28,398 posts)I am very fond of them, and only wish there was one closer to me. The nearest for me is about 50 miles away. And every one I have ever been in has been as clean as possible, given they're open 24 hours and are usually busy.

(34,407 posts)Interesting to see which way they'll go when being boycotted by the right and the left.
Chick-fil-A is well known for its conservative views. Its restaurants are closed on Sunday for religious reasons and it has donated to anti-LGBTQ organizations in the past (a decision that it reversed in 2019). In 2012, former Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy spoke out against Americas legalization of same-sex marriage, which sparked boycotts from the left.
The company has deep Christian roots. Its DEI page on Chick-fil-As website includes references to God, writing the companys purpose is to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A.

I saw with my own eyes several years ago the homophobic and racist face of a chick fil a near me. I'm thinking they have their own version of DEI. They were founded on Christo fascist hate and bigotry. I don't believe they have really changed. I could be wrong, but I don't trust them anymore than I trust magats.

For what it's worth, Target which ditched DEI had Black History Month on their website in Feb. It now has Women's History Month https://www.target.com/c/women-owned-brands-at-target/-/N-duljx and Celebrate Ramadan and Eid. https://www.target.com/c/celebrate-ramadan-and-eid/-/N-v955v
Here is what Target says
We show up for each other, make people the priority, and treat each other with respect. We believe in lifting each other up and valuing our relationships with one another and our guests above all else.
For what it's worth, I don't know exactly what that means. Within the framework of a corporation the term DEI could simply mean anything....
Generally, I assume some funds are spent, but who knows and how much a scholarship here and there. Acceptance of others? Training?

(19,210 posts)Chick-fil-A once again outpaced every other restaurant brand in this years American Customer Satisfaction Index, released today. The perennial favorite for nine years running scored an 85 on the index, up 2% from last years ranking and higher than every other quick-service and full-service brand on the list.

(8,680 posts)7 Most Overrated Fast-Food Chains, According to Customers
By far, most respondents pointed to Chick-fil-A as the most overrated fast-food chain. Over 30 percent of people who answered our poll on Facebook called out the chicken chain, which started in 1946 in Georgia, and is, of course, known for its chicken sandwiches. Unfortunately, it is now also known for its long lines. How long? So long that one location actually closed to change the location to drive-thru only.
While Chick-fil-A still holds a mystique for people, attracting those aforementioned long lines at most locations, people have begun to sour on the lackluster sandwiches and the long wait for "fast food." Almost 40% of the respondent to our poll mentioned the chain. A few had a bit more to say about why they're turning away from the iconic chicken sandwiches.
"I can't stand those soggy, tasteless sandwiches with a flat bun and the disgusting pickles. Don't get me started on the line thing," says one. Another said that the chain is "hyped like a 'healthy' and 'classy' choice, but it's literally just another place to get a chicken sandwich with fries." A third echoed that sentiment, "It's just a chicken sandwich with a pickle slice on it." Plus, many people in a recent Reddit thread about Chick-fil-A cited the issues that Chick-fil-A has had with the LGBTQ community as a reason they stay away from the chain.

(8,680 posts)Just because a place may be popular doesn't mean they are good. I know plenty of people who absolutely hate Chick-Fil-A and think their food tastes like garbage. Their opinion is just as valid as yours. I tried it once and thought it was no better than OK. Plenty of fast food restaurants have better chicken sandwiches in my opinion. Why do you care that some people don't like Chick-Fil-A? Do you own one or something?
Oh, and that article you posted ranked Papa John's 4th or 5th. Are you kidding me? I have literally never met a single person who like Papa John's
so I guess, you article is Trash as well. I personally don't like any of the restaurants that got their top ratings. Trash article.
And by your logic, Donald Trump and Republicans are much better than Democrats because they were more popular (more people voted for them) in the last election. Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?

(498 posts)I had never eaten there before. The wife and I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches and drove away .
They were bare buns with a dried up filet. Neither of us could choke them down. I found out later that they usually give those little mayo packets, but there wasn't even a napkin in the bag.
It's now a family joke when someone says where should we go for dinner?

(1,764 posts)companies founded on christo fascist ideals with their intolerance for the "others" will have played a huge role in normalizing hate. I will never support such a company. I also believe that people have every right to protest, or jot in any way, shape or form they choose to. Or choose not to.
BannonsLiver
(20,189 posts)It was probably no big loss to them as I wasnt a regular customer anyway. I dont care if people protest but in middle America those places are always packed so they have a decent clientele base.

(605 posts)I cannot tell you how long the lines were are the local Chick-Fil-A in the FL town I just moved from. They had 2-3 drive up lanes and they were always packed ..usually the lines were wrapped around the building. I could never figure it out. Were they giving food away? Personally, we only do fast food when we are on the road, and then only because it may be quicker. I gav e up on them when they made a stand on the gay community. That was years ago. I also do not shop at Hobby Lobby because of their ACA dance. Also, never go to PaPa Johns.

(532 posts)I just read that NOW the government's thinking about vaccinating chickens to keep them from getting chicken flu and affecting our egg supply. However, it occurs to me that HHS Czar Kennedy wouldn't like that to happen, because we really don't want bad mannered, out-of-control autistic chickens running around upsetting their coop-mates. Do we?

(52,858 posts)1. To get to the one store they have in my area I have to pass many far better restaurants. I don't know if you're familiar with Spokane, WA, but the only CFA up here is in what they call the Division Street Y. In the entire time I've been back in the Northwest - I returned in 2010 - I've been into the Division Street Y one time, when I needed five of a specific light switch cover plate for my home renovation and the Home Depot up there was the only store in the area that had any left.
2. Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This is where the Atlanta Falcons play. It is, like almost every other Chick-fil-A in the world, closed on Sunday...which is the day pro football is played in the United States. Exactly why does a football stadium need a restaurant that isn't open for football games?
3. Their franchise agreement. For $10,000 you get to buy a job that requires you to be in the restaurant every second the restaurant is open. Chick-fil-A owns your building, your inventory, dictates your menu and your hours, and don't even think about "going rogue" and opening your restaurant on Sunday because they lock your point-of-sale system that day.
You know what the worst part of the "closed on Sunday" thing is? Think about what Christians do after church on Sunday. (No, not "go buy a six-pack and rush home to see the NASCAR race."
They go out to eat, right? And because of CFA's strong Christian heritage, you'd have churchgoers just packing the place. They could easily set up a "10 percent off if you bring in your church bulletin" promotion and find lots of people who see that company as a ministry to work that day...but they refuse to do it. If I ever get really freakin' rich I have a very Christian friend who knows business and I'm going to set her up with a Christian Bookstore that's open on Sundays. None of them are, and it seems to me that Sunday, the day Christians are most fervent about their faith, would be a great day to sell Bibles. But no...if you need a Bible on Sunday you've gotta go to the heathens at Walmart and Barnes & Noble to buy it. Open that place up at 7 am before the churches open, staff it with people who love Jesus and see selling Christian stuff as a ministry, and you can't help but do well.

(34,627 posts)Never went back. Meh. Not worth a return trip. That was long before I knew they were Christo-fascists. I never understood what was the appeal. It was just a bland chicken sandwich that I could just as easily make at home for half the price. Hell, just give me a sandwich made with some leftover chicken and whatever bread is around, with a little mayo, and some salt an pepper. Maybe some lettuce and tomato, if it's on hand. Beats that rubbery Chick-fil-A crap any day.
