President Zelensky looked close to tears himself. That was a genuine moment. IT couldn't LoisB Mar 1 #1
Splendid greeting for Zelenskyy. He has more class than anybody in the oval office yesterday. planetc Mar 1 #2

As a proud American vet, I would stand up and salute him. I would NOT do that for Private Bonespurs. Wonder Why Mar 1 #13

Love, love, love this. No way could Mango Mussolini ever show such compassion for a vet or anyone for that matter. n/t iluvtennis Mar 1 #7

reminded me of my father, who served in WW11. I think of all the wars, and all the Americans who died or were so damaged as a result, and it's pretty effing sad. Leaves a hole in the soul.

It also makes me sorrowful he's not here to help me understand it. He was a proud WWII vet.

and I always think back to the beginning of this war. No one would have thought he was wrong to leave the country, but he AND his family stayed. That speaks volumes about who he is, what kind of man he is.

Meanwhile, the guy roosting in the white house has shown us what kind of....man(?) he is as well.

It’s a nice change from the anger I feel the balance of the time when I read or hear any current events
