What is the deal with this guy? He is a multi-billionaire and could do whatever he wants. So what does he choose to do? Destroy the federal government and plunge millions of people into distress and misery. You would think that he would have something better to do with his time. Something needs to be done about this jerk.

And apparently he has a brand new shiny AI facility in Tennessee (I think) that's ready to take over. He's happy to let trump be King, as long as Elon gets to be Emperor of the world.

He gets off in hurting others. The idea of destroying the lives of tens of millions of Americans gets him excited. The idea of taking social security for himself and his rich friends and thus dooming tens of millions of Americans to poverty and despair when they retire would be the greatest moment of his life.

His ego is fed by using the power and seeing immediate results, which are most clearly evident in destruction and the anguish of victims.

We find it difficult to understand the motives of sociopaths like Musk and Trump because we ourselves are not sociopaths.

12. It's an ego thing.

I remember how offended he was in 2018 when his moronic little dive submarine was rejected by the crew rescuing the trapped Thai school group. He got into a pissing contest with the expert who ridiculed his little project.

It was such a stupid idea. Anyone who has ever been diving knows how tight passages are, and how unrealistic it was to think a rigid device large enough to hold a student would be able to navigate the passages. But he was so certain he was right and everyone else was wrong.

That incident made it clear to me both how stupid - and ego-driven - he is.
