If a member links to a post from X that features a video; if that video is played here without following through to the X link; does that still register as an engagement of the original content as if you have clicked through…?

2. Posting x links here is giving Comfort and Aid

to the fascist K.G.O.P. machine trampling US democracy,
and tempting us to click and thereby give digital mojo to The Beast.

At this stage of things, its a poisonous idea to post x links to temp our curiosity.

And its a sucker's self-defeating and losing impulse to click on them

3. The site formerly known as twitter no longer exists in my personal internet universe.

Here on DU I wish I had the option of auto-trashing links to the site. Instead I put people who compulsively post those links on full ignore.

Scrolling through Musk's trashy site and reposting whatever crap you find there here on DU is largely a passive activity and doesn't actually make the world a better place.

You've got to confront people face to face -- family, friends, acquaintances, and coworkers. You don't have to be mean, but you ought to let them know where you stand. Sending money to agencies of resistance and relief for victims of this maladministration is another positive pursuit.
