How important the polls are, how stunningly scientific the methodologies, how valid and representative the sample when it tells you what you want to hear.

And how inherently flawed the scientific method is, how impossible it is to predict given expertise and data, how intractable the problem of predicting an outcome given only a probability - a snapshot, when it tells you what you don't want to hear.

Quantum political science.

Sun Mar 2, 2025, 01:04 PM
Mar 2025

AP Votecast (a massive, gold standard, 120,000+ sample exit poll) shows a frighteningly large (31 points) gender gap for 18-29 year olds in 2024, and comparing 2020 and 2024 there was a net 29 point swing in favour of Trump with 18-29 year old men.

2024

18-29 men went 56-42 for Tump (Trump +14)

2020

18-29 men went 56-41 for Biden (Trump -15)

Harris also did significantly worse with 18-29 women (granted still a net 31 points better than with 18-29 year old men in 2024, but in 2020 the 18-29 year old gender gap was only 17 points, with 18-29 men still supporting Biden by 15 points, just not at the +32 points level 18-29 year old woment did).

She did a net 15 points worse with 18-29 women in 2024 than Biden did with them in 2020.

2024

18-29 women went 58-41 for Harris (Harris +17)

2020

18-29 women wentt 65-33 for Biden (Biden +32)

AP Votecast's exit poll is far bigger, sample-wise, than the consortium used by some of the telly networks

3 other polls came out this past week showing him underwater at 44% approval.
Then just days later he's at 51%. A 17% relative bump in a few days.
Here's one from 2 weeks ago that has the number at 45%

He is either a very unpopular president early in his term or a nose diving president about to become obsolete.

The town halls suggest 51 percent is a touch high. Those town halls aren't filled with liberals and moderates.

49.5% of voters actually filled the oval for him.
So, I'd expect that to be the floor.
Biden was at 55% at the same time, per Statista.

Decency, intelligence, sanity. Nobody seems to want those things anymore. Too many Americans have been brainwashed into bigotry and lunacy as long as it seems like POTUS is "doing something"- never mind that all or most of the stuff is being illegally or inappropriately in terms of how the government is SUPPOSED to operate and it's being done out of retribution and callousness and hate. I guess it will take a LOT more actual pain and suffering for more people to finally comprehend their folly- until "they" becomes "me" I guess?

Imagine "America First" but with the goal being to empower and improve the lives of ordinary Americans instead of billionaires and Corporations.

Run on expanding Social Security benefits... "30% by 2030"

Talk about an American "Dividend", a reward for winning WW2 and 75 years of being the world's greatest military and economic superpower.

Go for universal healthcare, or at minimum expand ObamaCare.

Small things win over people. Expand ObamaCare to cover dental work for adults including implants and such things.

And throw all the neocons to the curb. Liz Cheney and her like COST us votes in 24.
