as long as it's a few stories above the ground floor. Many modern hotels don't have windows that open, though; so the selected hotel would have to be old enough to have windows that open, preferably without screens. Another question might be how messy the ultimate result is desired to be. A heavy object falls at the same rate as a lighter one (assuming no air resistance effect), but the longer the distance of the fall, the more the object accelerates. A falling person would reach terminal velocity at about 1,500 feet, which would definitely ensure a messy and unquestionably fatal outcome, but most hotels aren't that tall (assuming 14' per story). A tidier but still satisfactory result could probably be achieved at between 3 and 5 stories.
