Leases on 34 locations within the National Park Service were cancelled over the weekend. Many of these buildings were the only workspace for Park Rangers, Planners, Superintendents, and staff. What is to become of those National Parks? Glad you asked. The dominant theory is that Trump intends to sell off these lands and deposit the proceeds into the Sovereign Wealth Fund he recently created by executive order. This is only the beginning.

Sell off pieces of the NPS system, even parts of expansive properties. Cut down protected forests, destroy protected habitats, and strip America of all that makes it joyful and beautiful. It is what the Soviets did to the eastern bloc nations behind The Iron Curtain during the Cold War. Turn it ugly, steal all the natural resources, and suck all joy out of the lives of the citizenry.
