According to Aaron Rupar, the Trump administration is already walking back the Mexico/Canada tariffs.

On FAUX: Lutnick: "Both the Mexicans and the Canadians were on the phone with me all day today trying to show that they'll do better, and the president is listening because he's very, very fair and very reasonable. So I think he's gonna work something out with him."

So, this is all a stupid power trip to make trump look "strong"? Get the other side to grovel, as they are trying to do with Zelensky? Or just lie and say that the Mexicans and Canadians are backing down, knowing the corporate media will run with it?

I can see trump announcing some kind of big 'win' tonight.

It will be the exact opposite. Did people see Trudeaus speech? He's not backing down. Of course Trump expected Canada and Mexico to back down, but they clearly wont so Trump may try to save face by lying. But the rest of the world can already see that Trump failed in his extortion attempt against Canada and Mexico and so Trump is now even weaker than he was before.
