Gas jumped 20 cents a gallon today

Was 289 when I headed to work. Then 317 when I went to get my kid from practice.

The two stations down the road from me have 87 octane for $2.89.
I'm in NE Illinois.

Along the coast, there are places charging $5.00, for regular.

Filled my tank yesterday at $2.89/gallon. Today it was $3.19.

Gas prices are very volatile - you have to watch trends, not a single day's price change.

First time over that for some time. I was a little surprised at the jump.

It's been $3.10-$3.50 mostly since December-ish.

Just checked Gas Buddy. It actually dropped another dime since yesterday. It's in the $2.50 range.
