It's not the Chicago building, but a storage facility in a suburb called Hoffman Estates. The library will open early next year.

I remember Abbie Hoffman saying a president wasn't so much the sphincter as a toxic gas being released through it.

was when I saw her just wipe the floor with Rep. Rick Lazio in 2000. I knew from her time as First Lady that I liked her, but man... that debated elevated from supporter to fanboy.

I got to meet her at a private dinner in Fort Myers in 2006 (I was my mothers plus 1). I was mesmerized.

It was at a book signing for "Living History" at a Meijer store about 20 miles away from where I lived. It was scheduled from 11:00-1:00. My mother and I got there around 7:30 a.m. and there were already over 200 people ahead of us. We were told that some had even spent the night. By 11:00, the line was all the way through the store and halfway around the building. It was during Dubya's first term and I was wearing a button that said "Stop Mad Cowboy Disease" and when she saw it, she let out a hearty laugh.

and always demonstrated a dry, pervasive sense of humor.

I've always been amazed that people found her inauthentic or cold. I've said before she carried the Cassandra curse of being perceived as a certain way when she was in fact the exact opposite.

Anyway love her.

Also, she spoke to me on a fund raising cold call when she was running in 2016. I was not an undecided voter, so she was doing yeoman's work from her campaign office and I respect her so damn deeply.

I wish I could've seen her be President, but I guess Secretary of State is the ex officio running up role.

Would have doubtless made our country and world a far better place than it was. Never mind the shocking place it seems to be now.

Mahalo, Bill..

I met Hillary too in Upper State New York at a Fundraiser and spoke to her and asked if I could take her picture. She said yes.

She was on her Listening Tour.

I think that the country is still sexist and is not ready for a woman president. At least not in my lifetime.
