Why Trump will not finish his term

Trump will not finish his term because, in his hubris he has forgotten the concept of interest. One can be allowed to make a lot of noise, disrupt some apple carts, but one cannot seriously threaten the interests and survival of the most powerful in society without encountering extreme danger, both politically and personally. In short, threaten the oligarchs -- powerful men and women who may not be in the spotlight but determine the fates of economies and politicians -- and one will be REMOVED.

Trump is disrupting:

1. The financial system

2. Defence contractors (this is not the reason for supporting Ukraine, but it IS profitable to this sector, as is NATO membership)

3. The Anglo-American Alliance -- a century's long financial and security partnership that benefits both citizens AND the extremely wealthy

4. The political stability so necessary for commerce and trade to flourish

5. Wrecking the economy and destroying trade partnerships

6. Increasing the chances of a catastrophic nuclear war

7. Destroying the Rule of Law which is so necessary for the enforcement of contracts, peaceful political transitions and the pursuit of business

These things concern us, the responsible citizenry, but they terrify the truly powerful. They may have tolerated Trump to a degree on the promise of tax cuts to the wealthiest, the scaling back (or outright removal) of environmental protections, the lowering or removing of financial and legal regulatory bodies , etc. but all of this is not sufficient to protect a politician who so deeply threatens the oligarch's interests. They will remove him.

The Train Station, also referred to as the Long Black Train, is a rural canyon area past the Montana border into Wyoming. It is the area where the Duttons and the branded execute and/or dispose of their enemies and those who know many of the Yellowstone's secrets. As Lloyd Pierce pointed out, it is a county consisting of no people, no law enforcement, no judge and jury of your peers, and no one living within a hundred miles. This area is an example of how the west was won.

Which I need to put aside because they leave me speechless, you mention our need to control Congress, but he isn’t using congress now, even with a majority. He’s illegally holding the purse strings, rendering them quite useless already, no? How much can a democratic majority in congress do when he governs by executive orders. When he allows Elon and his mini child-sheild take questions in the Oval Office. Etc., etc.?

I get that the few things being voted on wouldn’t pass, but I would think that any bills they might happen to pass, he’d wouldn’t abide by anyway. I’m thinking there won’t be a fair (if any) election as it is.

He said we wouldn’t need to vote again, regarding elections. When they tell you who they are, believe them. That’s one thing we’re told, is it not? What to believe anymore? He’s full of it? He’s not joking? He’s a puppet? He’s a madman? He’s not stupid? He’s a fucking idiot?

What to believe?

The real power behind all of this like the Federalist Society, the Heritage Foundation, the Billionaires (think Thiel) and the GOP will put a stop to trump and Musk but not until enough of the government has been destroyed. Then they will come in as the saviors of the Nation, Vance will be President, and start to rebuild. The media will praise them.
The thing is…Their goal would have been accomplished and they will rebuild the government as they want and it will be nothing like we grew up with. The nasty work had been done for them. Trump and Musk will be thrown under the bus and they get the government they want.

Look, we are all on the same side, so I take no joy in popping this bubble, but we have seen countless versions of this fantasy here, even before he won his first term.

None have come to reality.

What is going to happen is what has happened at every step of the way - the Rs will not stand up to him, in fact they will continue to show relentless fealty, the media will continue to roll more and more toward normalizing him and the country will just continue to roll over.

The rich, sorry, much would prefer both sides of what comes with him - not liking the chaos and unpredictability, but loving his destroying our government and with it all the means to hold them to any level of accountability and the extra little sprinkle of sugar with him putting the screws to the plebs. To them its a clear net gain.

Do you think the march toward authoritarianism started with, and will end with the end of Trump? We've been going in the direction of authoritarianism for better than 30 years with things like Iran Contra, and the personality cult that built around Reagan. Before Trump, Mitch McConnell was the most successful authoritarian politician in at least modern U.S. history. Trump simply said "To hell with the bonfires" and got us to an inferno a lot faster.

The folks radicalized by Trump aren't just going to slink away, and they will hold on to the remnants of "The Trump Movement" until it's beaten back, something that may take a generation. This is why it's incumbent upon Democratic politicians to go beyond being "the resistance" and instead become the opposition. Those operating under the misguided idea that cooperation is buying them some kind of goodwill among the bigots, mossbacks, Nazis, Q-Anon freaks, and just plain right-wing assholes, are continuing to make the mistake of thinking there's some kernel of normalcy to be found in this so far successful ruining of American Democracy.

No one should think the end of Trump is the end of this sprint toward fascism by his acolytes and worshipers. Now that they know fascism has become a palatable choice for tens of millions, they're not going simply give up on it.

But if Trump were to kick the bucket it would at least put a good dent in the MAGA Fascist Movement. But fighting that movement will be a long term operation. We could prevail, though. We beat the British Empire in the 18th Century, we beat the Confederates in the 19th Century, we beat the Nazis in the 20th Century, we can beat the MAGA Fascists in the 21st Century. Fascism has its allure, but Democracy and Freedom are highly popular and they often prevail in history. So I think that we have a shot at winning this. It is going to be a fight though.

I think that unless we retake at least the House in 2026, it will take an Uprising. If that happened, hopefully a lot of the military and law enforcement would be on the side of the People and the Constitution and against Trump Musk. Some military and law enforcement are Trumpers, some are not. A lot of Federal Workers are Veterans and they must be pissed off, amongst other things.

I hope that we can regain control peacefully and democratically. But I think that there is a good chance that Trump might suspend the 2026 elections after creating some sort of excuse or pretext to do so. If something like that happens it might set off a real Uprising.

But hopefully the elections will occur and we will regain at least the House, and maybe also the Senate. Then the Opposition will move into high gear, with probable Impeachment of Trump and a Congressional investigation of Musk and other Trump Regime criminals.

I think that the People around Trump understand this possibility and will try to suspend the elections, fundamentally ending democracy in America. If they did this, the only solution that I could see would be some form of Uprising against the illegal fascist Trump Regime. I pray that we do not get to such a point.

Anyone thinking he'll be forced out is deluding themselves. Trump has filled his administration with yes men - and they're the ones who can remove him.

Some will guess (rightly or wrongly) he flubs, and gives out prior to term end.
Other will guess (rightly or wrongly) he sticks it out to end of term.

As said in '66, tomorrow never knows.

It is the P25 and the "libertarian" crackpots like Peter Thiel who are a cancer to the country.

And that isn't even including the "Christian" reconstructionists.

he will be removed.

But here is something that concerns me. There have been hints that they will blame the Democrats. Tucker started talking about it in the Summer of 2024. There is talk lately attributing the Butler PA attempt to Dems. Pam Bondi even made this assertion. If something happens to the grifter that they can blame on the Dems, it plays into their plans of a civil war.

We can't let out guard down. There is a concerted effort to demonize the "left", in so many ways.

It's the tax cuts.

The people behind trump do not care what he does as long as they get the tax cuts.

That's it.

75. I expect him to last 42 months

2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. 6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.

... that supposedly comes from the former Soviet Union. I may have read it here, and if so, hats off to whoever posted it.

A man stops at the same newsstand every day, buys a paper, looks at the front page, and then drops it in the trash. Finally, the newsstand clerk can't suppress his curiosity any longer, and asks the man why he does this.
"I'm checking to see if someone died," the man says.
The clerk says, "But if that's what you want to know, why aren't you looking at the obituaries? Why only the front page?"
"When this person dies," says the man, "it will be on the front page."

Unless he is impeached again and convicted or removed on the basis of the 25th amendment, something which I don't believe R will do, I don't see it happening. Let's hope I am wrong and you are right.

Should die unexpectedly or become incapacitated suddenly, the USA and world could slip into a status too horrible to comprehend.

We risk power slipping to insane with power and their own destiny at the cost of all and most everything.

Seems like each day is fraught with more jars to long held expectations.

Tend to view that much human conflict is the re-arranging of deck chairs for catastrophe and this process is not new.

There are too many humans and too big a human footprint of the Earth. Ecology with no technical solutions; just buying time, digging a deeper hole and human cooperation is not the desire of Trump, Musk, Putin, the contemporary oligarchs and similar.

such as Portugal, eliminating U.S. arms from consideration. This is a lot of money and both contractors AND their Senators and Representatives are going to be p*ssed over this.

Give it time. It will happen. "The Wise Men" will pay Trump a visit and show him the door.

(giving it time doesn't mean not fighting; it just means that there is hope)
