Well, tomorrow is the day I'm SUPPOSED to get my SS payment. Anyone else sick at their stomach wondering if it will come

I've never even had to THINK about it.
Now, I'm worried sick, I've even had to get a prescription for anti-depressant from my doctor, which I haven't needed since 2021, when guess who was the preznint.

And here's the kicker, I still work 7 days a week, at age 73, and I have to pay INTO SS, while at the same time being taxed on the SS I receive. But I have to keep working as long as I can because I can't begin spending my life savings until there is just no other way to exist.
My rent on my semi-ghetto apartment in Los Angeles already takes my ENTIRE SS payment every month, but that has let me dial down my work load for my health, I have a dangerous and anxiety producing job. But thank God I can still work and be my own boss.

If they stop SS payments, I can at least go for maybe 3 years max, but then it's straight to pushing a shopping cart and sleeping on a sidewalk, absolutely no other scenario.
BUT, I will be better off than millions and millions of other people, many of whom will soon be under eviction notices, having their car repossessed, and maybe the most important, have no money to pay their cellphone bill or lose internet access, at which point, in this day and age, they will be totally cut off from any possibility of finding help, or finding a way to GET TO where the help is.

Sorry for rambling, but
WHAT IS THE POINT OF ALL THIS?

Yes, I know they want us to die, but aren't landlords basically MAGA? Thousands and thousands of empty dwellings are going to cost them tons of money AND drive down rental prices, no?
And what, 73 million Americans or so are on SS, so are all the MAGA businessmen willing to lose, conservatively, 50 million customers???

Let's hope at least THIS MONTH'S payment arrives tomorrow for those of us born between the 1st and the 10th of our birth month.

My husband and I get ours on the 3rd of every month, so we have to wait until April in agony. I personally think they will wait until after April 15th to pull the plug... In the mean time we have been withdrawing money from our bank accounts for when it does happens, because once they pull the plug, banks won't have our social security money for any long term investments. I really have no idea what will happen when they pull the plug, but I would rather have cash in hand to be safe.

My birthday is in the 11-20 category but my SS always is deposited at the end of the month and rarely on a Wednesday. Last November I received that month's check on the first of the month and the December check at the end of the month.

I'm 72 and if I can find a job my problem will be solved because I live in a mobile home which is generous since at best it is a trailer but it has been my home for nearly 34 and is really a memory palace this this is the only place where my 33 year old daughter has lived and has been her home that she could come back to visit. The upside is that my lot rent is only $320/month and it's right in the city in a decent neighborhood, not far from stores and shopping. I live a block from a small river where eagles are very common to be seen this time of the year. The hard part for me is that's it's a memory palace and heartbreaking to need to leave.

Just a few months ago I trusted that my SS would always be there for me. How quickly that trust has disappeared. It's my money that I had taken out of every one of my paychecks.
How could I get robbed this way? What has this country turned into even with the threat of withholding our checks?

I think it is handled as a postdated check. It does not matter when it arrives, the transaction
is completed on the check date which for me is the second Wednesday of the month. This
started in my case with my first check in January when the deposit appeared on the Friday
before the second Wednesday. It sat in pending state until the second Wednesday and
changed from pending to posted when the bank does all the necessary steps to complete
the transaction. Last year it showed up the day before it was due and processed overnight
so, it showed posted on Wednesday.

As someone who received SS benefits from age 10 until I got out of college. My father died when I was 10. My mother, a widow at 46 with three children at home needed that. She was a public school teacher and in 1960 that was not enough for her to keep things going. We each got those benefits, but I was the youngest and therefore got them then the longest. I hate to think how she would have struggled. I would not have attended an out of state college and my life would be quite different.

and their puppet, Vance, with gratitude, because Trump has fucked up so much. I suspect sometime around the end of April, when people are totally freaked out about taxes, we'll see something happen to Trump to get him out of office. Many will welcome the "sanity" of Vance and P25, because it will seem to be safer and less likely to outright kill us all.

The whole point of this, in my opinion, was to tear the country apart so we'll just take whatever P25 will do, which will still be awful, but it will have a nicer face on it. Less outward crazy, more inward evil. They used Trump to get here, because no one would vote for Vance.
