Just a reminder...entitlements is not a dirty word.

If you payed SS and Medicare taxes, you are entitled to receive the benefits of those programs.

This bugs the crap out of me. Seeing it more and more especially in the mainstream news.

Every pay check. I just watch Sen. Schumer and former Sen. Claire Macaskel commenting about it and neither got to the most imposrtant point...they are earned benefits from deductions taken from every paycheck.

It just needs to said over and over...EARNED BENEFITS PAID INTO THE SYSTEM.

for MAGats to turn a positive word into a negative. Just as they did with “liberal “.Don’t give them that win. We are entitled to our entitlements! That’s exactly what earned benefits are.

Have you been under a rock for years? Entitlement does not connote payments into the system over a career of working. It connotes something that is unearned and people feel they are entitled to without working for them.

Stop repeating rethug talking points. Musk has been all over the news shows today saying that very thing as a reason to gut Social Security se we don't need to keep repeating their talking points.

of the English language, but I’ve been around since Roosevelt (albeit I was just a precocious child then) and I know what the word “entitlement means. And it doesn’t mean what you’ve been duped into thinking it means. It’s you who are parroting right wing talking points with your doublespeak

It still pisses me off when they use it as a slur.

And, I think you may be right, that the conventional understanding aligns with the facists...Unfortunate.

and we can't change it, just keep emphasizing that they are earned benefits paid into the system over a career of working to draw them later in life.

If is part of FDR's New Deal and rethugs have been trying to kill it since 1935 when it was created. And they haven't been successful because it's so popular.

meaning of words on their heads. Social Security has been called an “entitlement “ since its inception to CONTRAST it with CHARITY, which previously had been the only means for supporting the indigent elderly.

Sorry if the useful idiots on your favorite talk shows don’t know that. But I try to follow the wisest among us, not the dumbest.

"Entitlements" is not a dirty word. It is not a "right-wing" word.
