I just had a coworker tell me

that as long as it doesn't affect her, she's not concerned about anything that's happening.

Then she went oft to take her lunchtime nap in her office.

THIS is why we're in this mess.

The main failing our party has, and it’s really a virtue, is that we don’t really want to deliberately hurt people, if we can help it. Looks like they’re gonna have to suffer anyway. now you see where the attitude about climate change comes from

by voting "yes" they're only putting off the inevitable. i don't know - never having lived abroad - but it seems like our fellow citizens are especially clueless - maybe uniquely so among the western democracies. you can't have a democracy if people don't care to be involved. at all. we're going to stumble into some existential catastrophe and the public is going to say "wha happened?"

hat tip to fred willard.

Americans have been believing myths about this country since it began. Jim Crow laws, indigenous people are better off on reservations they also circle wagons so they can be picked off, we saved Europe and the should be grateful, and America is the greatest country in the world. We are now finding out the constitution is just a piece of paper.

Many of the “Latinos for Trump” wondering why the Kamala voters are not holding massive demonstrations to protect them and their Dreamers families from deportation are learning that the hard way. Eventually it does impact them, and they find that those they denigrated aren’t lining up to fight for them.

1) She is a Republican
2) If she claims to be a Christian, she missed the point entirely
3)She probably does something in her job that needs some evaluation
4) She cheats at a lot of things and is probably a terrible gossip.

She's very conservative, but is more liberal in some areas because of her daughters and their friends (gay/trans). She's smart enough to know that if she doesn't play nice, her daughter will probably write her off.

Funny thing is, that daughter is heading off to college this fall, and she's expecting her to get a scholarship. She may be in for a rude awakening in a month or so.
