If there’s a convincing explanation that this is the right course, fine. I just haven’t heard that yet

Keep open what he wants and close what he wants and no judge could decided differently.

them unfettered power to further loot the gov't. He says the CR holds them to some restrictions but is horrible. "Why does Musk and Trump and Voight want this (shutdown)," he says. "I had to give people this warning."

Schumer also said a shutdown would give them the availability to shut down the courts and the courts have been one of the best ways we've had to stop them (or slow them down).

That would limit his powers to like
6 minutes or some such so it looks like he has it but is actually limited time
Not 6 months!!!! ( cross off months put minutes )

Probably wishful thinking probably not a real possibility

people, and that the republicans would actually want the shut down so they can blame the Democrats.

Even though he thinks the CR is terrible and will open the door to draconian legislation, he feels that more people would be hurt if the government is shut down.

Do they need to be on the news drawing attention to our political impotence?

"Hey media, I'd like to announce that I've changed my stance 12 times in 2 days despite there is no reason for me to participate in this process. Please do not let Fox know because they'll say they beat ya to it!"

Perhaps he is counting on a Trump veto because it is bipartisan know.

That is the ONLY chess move that is possible, and that is only a chess move because Trump is more a checkers mind.

Which party is more unified regarding cloture (not even the CR) - the Democrats or the Republicans?

Why is our leader selling a bag of goods that he has no power to provide?

Again - he is the minority leader. He does not set the agenda. He has no mandate to govern. He is, however, on TV saying he will support "better this than that, because it could be worse"

This has not won us elections, and it is really hard to believe it will in the future.

the Democrats. He believes that if they keep the government running, even though the CR is terrible, it will do less damage, and any further authoritative legislation that hurts people will be on the republicans.

That is essentially his argument.

a lot of the blame, especially those that reused to vote or VP Harris, or Hillary in 2016, by either not voting or voting third party.

that judge canon was appointed to oversee the document case makes me wonder just how random that selection was.

But it’s so discouraging that Trump is never forced to account for his misdeeds, and it’s depressing that so many Americans voted for this orange a-hole, and it sucks that our political system is so rigged in favor of big money.

And we don't need to keep him. It is up the Senate democrats to establish their own rules, no?

It should be uncomfortable to be leader, but I think it is fair to say that our leaders should never LOOK uncomfortable defending their policies.

Edit: And yes, he is a good democratic soldier and fundraiser. He does not need to be in leadership, though his contribution as a democratic rank and file vote is appreciated, though a low bar.
