(40,314 posts)I prefer to watch what people do and place less importance on what they say.
The more important the issue, the greater and more vigorous the reaction. 100 people thought this was important enough to take the time to attend the protest. Millions did not.

(34,073 posts)Phone calls: For every call made, it's believed that 100 others hold the same position.
Showing up and protesting: Who knows? But it is certainly more work than a call. I think each protester represents 1,000 voters.
Also, visually letting someone know how you feel about an upcoming decision is a good thing.
As long as it's constructive, peaceful and it isn't, "Hey, ho, Schumer has got to go"....I'm OK with it.

(18,167 posts)Maybe it's more like a Lose-Everything, Lose-Less-and-maybe-win-a-little choice.
A vote FOR the CR that isn't really a CR at all and gives 💩 a whole lot more power is capitulation without a fight. No shut down, but no improvement in the present situation and a lot of other bad things. There's virtually nothing good in it.
A vote AGAINST the CR that isn't really a CR at all and does force a shut down means GOP has to own it, and GOP has to face the consequences. It represents a CHANCE at least to fight and stand up for what's right.
We/Dems should not be rescuing our enemies. Right now, the entire GOP is our enemy, the enemy of our Constitution.
Even doing nothing is a choice.
