8. I think we were under the delusion

that we progressives were stronger, that logic and intelligence and fairness would win over lies and deception. But the legal "guardrails" have suddenly fallen. It's like we are finally seeing behind the curtain in a way that leaves no shred of doubt about their monstrous plan. It cannot be minimized or ignored any longer. Back then, in the reign of Dubya, we hadn't completely lost faith in the system. We didn't foresee the Super Cult of tRump. Now they have the power--or think they have, to sabotage the whole system. Those of us who saw the danger tried to counter it as best we could, but the earlier protests were thwarted, ignored, and certainly not fairly covered by the mainstream media. Yeah, would have been better to try to fight harder earlier, but Hindsight. Now what choice do we have? Not a whole lot. Whatever way we can resist, speak up, boycott, appeal to reps, protest-- we have to do it now. IMO no contribution is too small. Doing nothing is no longer an option.
