(4,150 posts)Hopefully she's so young that these awful memories will somehow fade. I don't know though. . . .

(4,150 posts)There is NO answer to this other than a crazy maniac and a little girl who was extremely intuitive and fortunate in the face of something so ghastly. Thankfully, she had the bravery and the intelligence to somehow know what to do, if there even WAS a right or wrong thing to do.
When they say "god" saved her, it makes one wonder where "god" was for the other children-- were they expendable?

One of my employees was not as damaged by Sandy as much as others and she said that it was because she'd prayed harder.

(22,541 posts)Before he saw her the day of the shooting. And then again the day after. The day after he said his little sister had been covered in blood when they first saw her and it was gory. He almost broke down telling it. I can't remember his name but he was in his teens and had nice brown hair and he was a handsome young man. Clearly loves his little sister dearly.

Anyway I'm thankful that someone survived.

(14,337 posts)back in the 50s growing up in NYC. If you are ever around gunfire immediately drop to the floor and play dead. Don't try to run away or you will be shot.
Brought back a lot of memories for me when I heard she did this. Makes me wonder if she was told by someone to do this.

(7,968 posts)It would have taken a significant amount of courage and an ability not to panic. Very impressive for one so young.
