How long will it take to get our institutions back?

Once this nightmare is over (I’m being an optimist) can you imagine what it will take to repair the institutions which are being decimated or the thousand other aspects of our public life that are being decimated? From the Kennedy Center to the elimination of DEI, to all of the processes of our bureaucracy that are no longer in place (not to mention the civil service). It’s incalculable .

It might be a half way existense....relying partially on the US when we have Democratic leadership again ( 🙏 ), and knowing it could go away again.

Sucks for very long term planning.

Constitutionally, and non-violently, somehow putting enough pressure to make him resign, or getting him 25th Amendmented, seem like best possibilities.
If we don't put a stop to this soon,, the damage will take forever to undo.

At 27% job approval, it's going to be hard for Democrats to win elections without some major changes in leadership.

And also the makeup of the Congress. My guess is by the time this is over there will be broad public support for a return to functioning Government. That may not be apparent right now. We’re 2 months in and have barely scratched the surface of the hell that awaits.

The next president – Democratic or Republican – will likely rescind many of Trump’s EOs.

If there are still a large number of Trump cultists it will be more difficult.

If a very larger majority of the country want to fix things for the better it will be easier.

This is why I think the earlier Trump dies the better it is becsuse people will be less supportive of or more likely to oppose Vance and others tryng the same shit.

We need a Democrat like FDR and a New Deal style program to rebuild the government and the economy. I actually think it could be done pretty quickly if we also have a Democratic Congress. If Trump Musk continue to destroy the economy, I think people will demand action.

How will we get the money back that has been stolen.

Musk may have "slashed" budgets, but the money's already been collected and I'm certain it isn't sitting in an Independent Trust Fund.

It will have been stashed in secure offshore accounts, carefully hidden.

Also it would have been easy for them to set up secret accounts in SS and payroll so
they can get monthly checks forever from the US govt.

Yeah that was just a state thing in Florida but still a huge loss. It will never come back.

Other institutions might be more feasible.
