A proposal question

I am just want to see peoples feelings on this idea.

Would you be open to a piece of legislation that bans assault weapons, limits magazines to 10 rounds, and set up a national uniform shall issue concealed carry law. The carry law would require mental health screening and background checks along with range training/qualification (similar to what police recruits get but tailored more to what a non-officer might encounter) and classroom education. EAch time a permit holder would renew his permit he would have to requalify on the range (similar to how police officers are)

what would your feelings be?

I think if such a deal were proposed you might get a good deal of support from the gun owning community. IMO it's always better to pass legislation that reaches a consensus especially on issues such as divisive as this

So I don't get on the same bus you do. Thank you very much, but I oppose concealed carry laws. It should be a crime to carry a concealed weapon, except in extremely rare instances. (So, no, although I would prefer no-carry, perhaps a very limited "may carry" law might be acceptable, but it would have to go through strict judicial oversight). How did we get to this crazy place where concealed weapons have become the norm? Pfeh. Poo. Yuck.
