Social Security Town Hall In The Villages Florida

The Villages is a very large retirement community in Florida. My mother and my stepfather retired there many years ago. My mom has since passed away, but my stepfather still lives there. It is a fairly conservative place, but if you mess with their Social Security, watch out. You may wake the grey panthers.

Skews to the “comfortable” side of the net worth scale.

It’s not an inexpensive place to buy into in the first place.

Sure, losing any income later in life is never a good thing, but it isn’t like the majority of the residents of The Villages are just scraping by.

I would say that most residents collect Social Security but also have pensions from their jobs. They also have equity in their houses, for the most part. But even those people would suffer a significant loss of quality of life if their Social Security is cut. It is not a good time in life to suddenly lose a big chunk of your income. Those people would be pissed, and would probably still have the means to seek retribution, from voting and funding candidates who would seek to restore any Social Security cuts, and who also might seek justice against those that made the cuts in the first place.

I'm sure none of those fucks (sorry for my keyboard malfunctioning on the word "folks" ) voted maga to scrap social security. They voted maga because of whiteness. And now they're realizing about $1800 - $3800 a month is a tough chunk to do without on a fixed in come. Folk them.

And spare me the economic arguments. They know the president doesn't control the price of eggs.

Look at how they vote because of taxes.

If Trump messes up SS payments, there will be mass protests.

As I said, it is a pretty conservative place. That said, we have to take our allies where we can find them, even amongst Republicans who may have voted for Trump. If we could unite Dems, Independents, and Republicans that are angry at Trump and Musk, I don't think that any force in America could stand against such a coalition. So we should maybe try to do that.

After they find out he is sharing top secret State Secrets with his pal, Elon. No vetting. No electing. No security clearance. Nice. Real nice. 🙄

As reported on MSNBC tonight on The Last Word, he plans to have Elon in a meeting preparing for possible war with China. He gets to hear all our secrets, including weaponry and potential targets. Gotta keep him in the loop, I guess. 😡
