I was at high schools where there were very serious problems. One armed guard was not enough. Stuff would happen in other parts of the school, the guard would get there, too late. so it would take many guards..and I saw that too. Teams of Chicago Police walking the halls in teams of two on each floor. 3 floors. all the time. For a while...a few days or weeks,..it worked...............but...
.. then it became less and less security as it always does. It has to ..there is not enough money for more than one or two full time
guards. sure..metal detectors at a door. but...you got to have people at each door to keep people from sneeking in..all the time..
Many schools have many doors..a kid and his friend sneek to a door to let the friend in..? not rocket science..maybe it would work if you had enough guards and help to watch all the doors... all the time...most likely not..
..I could go on and on..a dedicated nutcase can get around it...they almost always do..if they are reasonably smart. and they often are..
..oh..and even with the guards...I was still attacked three times. after that, I taught another 23 years..no attacks....
