He had Musk on his show after Eloon turned Twitter into the X bastion of hate and vile rightwing propaganda. Maher, a "free speech absolutist," fawned over Musk and asked him nothing but softball questions.

A couple years ago he had Steve Bannon on his show, asking what he thought would be some "gotcha" questions. Unsurprisingly, Bannon responded with a gish gallop of bullshit for which Maher was outclassed and unprepared. He would just say "OK" then move on to the next question, only to get reamed again.

I was shouting at Maher on the TV, while any MAGA viewers were no doubt smiling at Bannon for making good use of the platform he was provided.

Unfortunately I see almost every "Real Time" broadcast, since my wife likes to see some of the guests and panelist discussions. She's hugely anti-Trump, but is not repulsed by Maher like I've grown to be. Some of his stuff is funny and occasionally spot-on, but he's pissed me off too many times and he's just too damn full of himself.
