The pentagon deleted the Tuskegee Airmen from it's Wall of Fame...

link

WASHINGTON (AP) — Every day over the past few weeks, the Pentagon has faced questions from angry lawmakers, local leaders and citizens over the removal of military heroes and historic mentions from Defense Department websites and social media pages after it purged online content that promoted women or minorities.

In response, the department has scrambled to restore a handful of those posts as their removals have come to light. While the pages of some well-known veterans, including baseball and civil rights icon Jackie Robinson, are now back up on Pentagon websites, officials warn that many posts tagged for removal in error may be gone forever.

The restoration process has been so hit or miss that even groups that the administration has said are protected, like the Tuskegee Airmen, the first Black military pilots who served in a segregated World War II unit, still have deleted pages that as of Saturday had not been restored.

And these are your leaders... and Don't BLAME JUST TRUMP!!!! This is a disgrace to anyone that has ever served. The memory of Real fucking heros thrown in the Trash by our Army, our Navy, our Marines... OUR NATIONAL DISGRACE. Shame on them... not that they care.

2. I just wonder what all the people of color say who voted for this?

I mean... it wasn't like they didn't know what they were voting for. They said it over and over again and now they get to be a part of erasing their own heritage... They get to remind their Grandchildren who the Tuskegee Airmen or Jackie Robinson was... and they get to help tell their grandchildren that they helped bring back the racists who deleted their history. Fitting.

I would guess it’s very low numbers of poc who voted for psycho, and they’re mostly crazy. Hopefully they are changing their minds about the whole thing now when they see what is happening.

3. Oh, but they had to get all those dangerous DEI pages down before they could do more

Irreparable harm . . .

But seriously, the real harm is not just some of the most obvious errors existed for a few days - but that so many less obvious erroneous removals may never even be noticed and restored. All of that carefully reconstructed history (because we know darn well it wasn't included from the beginning) may be gone forever.

Think about that... Probably an enlisted person... They got to delete the memory of people who sacrificed their lives for this country...

And then don't forget they saluted the Flag at Retreat that afternoon...
Bet they were Proud to be an American that day.

who was sent to honor him on behalf of the Air Force. He told the congregation that he was selected to represent Air Force because most of the active duty officers who would normally attend to honor such a historical figure would not do so fearing reprisals from the Trump administration. Some were nearing retirement and others up for promotions would not dare to make any moves seen as disobeying anti-DEI orders from this administration.

It was more than shocking to here this from a retired General. It was heartbreaking.
