My Report Of Krasnov At The NCAA Wrestling Tournament
Wife, daughter, grandson, and I went. Wife is having issues with her legs, walking distances is a problem. Krasnov is going to the finals Saturday night. We get to our gate, in our car, and they won't let anyone in, I guess it's too close to the arena, like 1/4 mile away. So wife and I get out of the car and she struggles to make the 1/2 mile walk to our walk in gate, daughter has to park 3/4 mile away.
Saw the protesters along the main road earlier in the day, a decent amount but I expected more.
Security at the arena was enormous. There are added metal detectors. There are TSA people who replaced event security people running them and then wanding everyone. There are Secret Service, so many cops I couldn't tell who they were. Inside the arena, our seats are only 4 rows from the mat and right above where Krasnov will sit. No one loitered in our aisleway or they were told to move on.
The NCAA usually picks the most interesting match to be last out of the 10 final matches, but we were told that the most intriguing match would now be first, because Trump had to leave before the last match ended.
The event is supposed to start at 7. Musk shows up, waves to the crowd and is booed. 2 dozen other dignitaries show up, but no Krasnov yet. Daughter and I look at each other and say, they are stalling. They finally have to start the match. The kid from Penn State, my school, is going for his 5th National title and wrestling another former champ. No Trump. The match is over, Carter Starocci wins his 5th title. College kids are only allowed to wrestle 4 years, but because of Covid where no fans were allowed in the arena, the NCAA granted all of the wrestlers from that year another year of eligibility, so Carter Starocci may very well be the only 5 time champ and Krasnov missed it.
Krasnov shows up and the boos v applause was pretty close to even. I did my part. As I said I am only 100 feet from Krasnov so when he looks at me with his thumbs up, I am booing and shaking my head, no, no. no.
The first hour Trump talks with Pa. Senator McCormick, watches 10 minutes of wrestling. The 2nd hour he talks with Gym Jordan and some others I don't recognize. The 3rd hour he talks with Scott Perry. He maybe watched 30 minutes of wrestling altogether.
After each weight was wrestled the top 8 wrestlers from every weight could go to Krasnov for his photo-op. I would guess that 40% declined to go to Krasnov.
Leaving the arena wife and I had to walk 1/2 mile in another direction where people get Ubers and my daughter navigated around to find us.
Fuck that piece of shit, a lot of people are in his cult.
Other than that, the Penn State team may be the best team ever. All 10 wrestlers finished; 1 6th (torn knee did not wrestle his last 2 matches), 1 5th, 5 3rd place, 1 2nd, 2 1st and set a new team scoring record by beating its last year's scoring record.
