Some tories expressed support for the Commonwealth monarchy in terms of the separation between head of state and government, and how the King is inherently politically modulatory (by example, I suppose). I am increasingly sympathetic to that position, and while we can never and should never have a King, the idea of High Consul Obama is becoming very appealing.
