Hope?
Top Republicans grew so concerned about the lackluster performance of their own GOP House candidate in an upcoming special election in Florida that President Donald Trumps team and members of House GOP leadership decided to personally intervene.
Still, the concern for Republicans and the hope for Democrats is that a tighter-than-anticipated finish would be viewed as evidence that Republicans agenda in Washington doesnt come with a voter-backed mandate. Democratic strategists say that if Weil can get within 10-15 points of Fine, it will suggest the partys base is motivated and voters are souring on Trumps agenda.

when historically it has been more Republican. It sounds like he has a good shot.

Now, weeks later, Republicans are bracing for a closer-than-expected result Tuesday in Floridas deep-red 6th Congressional District, where their nominee has been significantly outraised and is at risk of falling far short of the presidents November performance in the district.

(2,601 posts)7. Wow, our Democrat has significantly outraised the GOP candidate?
Based on the blaring and panicked text messages I receive all day, every day, I assumed that nobody is contributing a dime to any of our candidates. Glad to hear my perception is incorrect.
