Love headlines

While reading about the horror in Connecticut and all of the associated follow-up articles that have been heart-rendingly, overwhelmingly sad, including those recounting other violent tragedies in this country, I began thinking about how odd it is that there is so very little "love" news.

We are constantly bombarded by news of hatred, violence, anger, aggression, disagreement, strife, stress, fear, threat etc., and yet we, as a species, are so capable of - and very often expressive of - love. Imagine our news populated by stories of love, like, for example:

"FORTY-SEVEN YEAR OLD MAN, LOVING HUSBAND AND FATHER OF THREE, CALLS AGING MOTHER TO TELL HER HE LOVES HER."

Just think about it: day after day, headline after headline, bombarding us with stories of love, kindness, and goodness-of-heart.

So, what is YOUR love headline for the day?
