(5,251 posts)especially younger people---- we lost those because of "high prices", which were worldwide.
It's hard to craft a message on that issue against a liar who promised "lower prices on day one!"
Now that Trump-flation chicken is coming home to roost...
and everything he has done since taking office is making it worse for him.
I don't expect a "turnout problem" for Democrats in 2026
(see "2018 midterm election results" for guidance-- only a little bit worse for R's)

(5,251 posts)thus by definition, "hacking" is impossible. End of story.
Getting tired of this non-story.... Inability to accept a loss makes us look like the 2020 magat base...
If we had actually WON the 2024 presidential election,
after dumping our incumbent president from the ticket, then
THAT would have been a very unusual result, judging by results from
about the last 150 years----
Given the attributes of the opposing candidates, it SHOULD have happened by simple logic,
but it did NOT--- which aligns with the rules about supporting your incumbent president--
and what usually happens when you do not...

There's no doubt that Trump plans to revamp elections.

(2,145 posts)Presidential elections are handled exactly the same as statewide races because that's what they are. Precincts count votes and report them to the county which reports them to the SOS/state. Pretty easy to audit if the numbers recorded at the precinct level don't match what's reported to the SOS. Voting machines, tabulators, and the laptops where the results are kept are all air-gapped.

There is no such thing as a national election in the US. Elections are statewide or local.

(24,486 posts)It was a historic turnout here in Wisconsin for a spring election which overwhelmed any attempt to hack, steal, or buy it.
If Democrats and the Left had the same fire in the belly to win and would have turned out in historic numbers last November there would be no president Trump or interfering Musk now. If voters in Wisconsin in this election had the same over-confident attitude that Democrats had in November, Schimel would have won here yesterday.
