I'm sure other countries have many people traumatized by horrific acts of man and nature. But does any other also have ubiquitous media / entertainment constantly promoting whacko ideas and behavior?

(327 posts)1. Hmmm.... Is there a country on earth that needs mental health services more than ours? Hmmm....
....Yes. Texas. Nuf said?
In absolute terms, China has a lot more people, thus a greater absolute need.
In relative terms, I assume someplace like Rawanda or Somalia or Iraq would have very high rates of mental illness if diagnosed by western standards.
And Japan has as much or more media saturation, and their media is at least as sick and crazy as ours.
