(22,622 posts)Temps will be okay. It might be rainy. Our meeting place is by one of the rivers, and because of the rain the last several days, we might have to meet elsewhere, if the river is flooding.
My daughter suggested I try to find a spot away from the street, in case some madman drives into the people protesting.
I went to a protest supporting fired government workers and police protection was scanty. I saw a cop parked in a car parked a block from the protesters and asked him why the protesters didn't have protection nearer to them. He had no answer.
I never went to protests until the felon and miller locked kids in cages. Today will be my 4th. I never dreamed my retirement years would be like this.

(498 posts)is a big swing from last weeks cold and rain. Will meet up with family and friends. Every protest I have been to since Inauguration has been well attended. I think today will be even bigger from the response Im seeing on our local Resistance website. Be well! Be safe! Insist! Resist! Persist!

(2,980 posts)We actually live in SF, so will attend the protest at Civic Center Plaza, but there are other protests scheduled across the Bay Area. The weather is supposed to be sunny, with temps ranging from 63 to 67. There will also be a protest at a Tesla dealership in SF.

(13,731 posts)My husband has been trying to get local veterans to go, so we'll see if any show. I have some friends who will be there.
The local news typically downplays turnouts for protests unless they are against the TMT on Mauna Kea. Many locals say they are just a bunch of seniors and LGBTQ and people with purple hair that go to these things.
The truth is that protests against the Felon and his stooges have been well attended and by a variety of people. We also get way more horn honking and waving to show us support than getting flipped off. A counter group protest is usually tiny if at all.
