...like a MAGA Republican scorned.
The Republicans are going to see a backlash like nothing they have ever seen before.
We are just beginning to see the anger rise up in some Trump supporters. They see very clearly what is happening to them. And they don't blame it on Joe Biden. Even some on FOX News are beginning to question the road they are on? They do not see sunshine and rainbows. They see dark clouds ahead.
Also, we are beginning to see some Republican politicians attempt to put some distance between themselves and Donald Trump, a la Ted Cruz. He would not defend his wife when Trump called her ugly names but he is hesitant to get on the tariff wagon. I'm sure there are a few others that are worried about a backlash.
The strategy of telling them that they need to be patient, short-term pain for long-term gain. But that dog will not hunt. Even Herbert Hoover tried that at the beginning of the Great Depression. He then signed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act. As they say, the rest is history.
How long before the rats start jumping ship and swimming for dry land?

(3,496 posts)Perhaps.
But most will remain loyal to Trump.
The backlash against Republicans we hope is coming will come from Trump voters who arent Cult members independents, weak Democrats, and a few Republicans who realized how stupid they were to have voted for Trump, and to have voted for Republicans for Congress.

(54,909 posts)1) You're going to be evicted b/c of foreclosure or rent not paid.
2) Your electric is turned off.
3) You're splitting cans of beans for supper and that's it.
4) Your vehicle needs repair and either you can't afford the parts, the parts are out of stock, or both. No vehicle, no work.
5) But there's always money for ammo, I suppose.
