Cabrito al Pastor

Huevos Rancheros (and I am extremely picky, it HAS to be GOOD, really good)
Not some damn gringo style crap either

Pozole Rojo, and Verde
AND it better be good, not some crappy store or restaurant crap pozole)

Menudo….well not for me…only once had really good menudo homemade by
friend families in Galveston decades ago

Tamales. MMMMMMmmmmmmm
Again, got to be good, I prefer pork, but masa got to be just right,
Meat has to be plenty spiced just right with a little heat for taste, and then heat that kicks-in later. I reject just about 80% of tamales that people think are ‘good’

Frijoles….freshly made, I’m really really picky
Charro

Chorizo mmmmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm

Elotes

Mole….not much of a fan of, with some exceptions

Ceviche……got to be super fresh
Made to order good

44. A little story about Mole ...
Sun Apr 6, 2025, 06:27 PM
Apr 2025

My mom & dad had been married about 50 years and all us kids (8) had already moved out.

From time to time, my mom would make mole chicken for Sunday dinner, when I was younger.
I'm not a fan of mole, but it was dinner and as my dad would say, "This is not a restaurant. You'll eat what our mom cooked and served."

So I ate it.

50 years later, my dad finally fessed up and told my mom, that he really didn't like her mole.
I was ready to throw my plate him, because I didn't like mole period.

Instead I told him, "This is not a restaurant. You'll eat what mom cooked and served."

I'm sure their private conversation later, would not be that pleasant.

58. Sorry but that is absolutely TRUE. Tex-Mex is crappy food
Mon Apr 7, 2025, 10:08 AM
Apr 2025

Sorry but the truth hurts you, but Tex-Mex is crappy food.

Tex-Mex isn’t in any shape or form Mexican food,
It just isn’t. Tex-Mex food is Gringo food. Period.

Hell I can still remember decades ago that extremely popular
Tex-Mex restaurant in Texas…. PANCHO’S Buffet !
YUCK YUCK YUCK!!

That Tex-Mex Pancho’s had all-you-could-eat, you would ‘raise’ that tiny flag
at your table to get ‘more’ of the Tex-Mex mess,

Disgusting food.

El Fenix. Another over-rated crappy Gringo food Tex-Mex restaurant chain.
A LOT of dumb Anglos LOVED that slop.

El Chico. The same. Crap Gringo Tex-Mex restaurant chain.

Now there are many many Tex-Mex restaurants in Texas,
Lots and lots and lots of CRAPPY food.

I even know of a few Anglo-type Chicanos, that eat that crappy
Tex-Mex. They grew up speaking English usually. One Texas Tejanos I know
was married to a bimbo blonde Anglo who couldn’t cook — so he never realized
how shitty that Tex-Mex he was eating was.

There is a chain in Texas, Mi Cocina, lots of locations, it’s ‘ok’,
but like a lot of chain restaurants, even with same menu, what locations
you go to matters whether it’s really fresh, not just sitting around.

Now some Tex-Mex restaurants in Texas are serving real MEXICAN food
along with their Tex-Mex crap, like Ninfa’s in Houston.

Ninfa’s is OK. Fair only
Goode Co. Kitchen, is well so-so, I do NOT care for their food at all.
Pappasito’s Cantino, well YUCK! I ate there decades ago, and it was crappy
Tex-Mex, and I was forced to go there again about 10 years ago, because
that’s where someone planned our group to eat there, AGAIN the food was
at best BLAH!

I stopped going to Mi Cocino years and years ago.
There are lot better REAL MEXICAN FOOD restaurants in Texas,
although not that many in Texas.

It’s shocking just how few there are, the-really authentic GOOD Mexican restaurants in Texas, annd are hard to find in Texas. While in California, I find a LOT more really good real Mexican restaurants.

Protesters in small New York village march to Trump border czar's home over family's ICE detention

April 5, 2025, 8:43 PM EDT
By Andy Weir and Emily Berk

SACKETS HARBOR, New York — Around a thousand protesters marched outside White House border czar Tom Homan’s home in a small New York village Saturday, calling for the release of three children and their mother who were detained by immigration agents at a nearby dairy farm late last month.

Donning signs criticizing the family's detention and chanting, “Bring them home," protesters in Sackets Harbor made the more than 2-mile round-trip march from a nearby park to Homan’s personal residence.

The march began with a rally organized by the Jefferson County Democratic Committee, which included a written statement from New York Attorney General Letitia James, who said she was “heartbroken and angry” by the family’s detainment ...

“We’ve seen it occur right in the last 60 days across the country, but when it happens in your backyard, I think that’s what garners people’s attention,” Jefferson County Democratic Committee chair Corey Decillis said ...

In any case, Mexican food is not monolithic. There are numerous styles. None of them are really like Taco Bell, which I guess is based more on Tex-Mex.

Homan is a shallow-minded piece of shit. One of the best ways to get to know a culture is to try its food. It's really great to try new things, except for American dipshits who expect the world to cater to them.

Real or not, there are plenty of Americans who don't know anything about Mexico or its food.

It is expected that the "Mexican" items will be required to be replaced with "Murican" equivalents.

Nachos: potato chips and cheez wiz
Burritos: pancakes wrapped around breakfast sausages

Jan. 12 (UPI) -- More than 1 in 10 restaurants in the United States serve Mexican food, according to a new study from Pew Research. The analysis found 85% of U.S. counties have at least one Mexican restaurant, with 99% of Americans living near one.

The 15% of counties without any Mexican restaurants have about 4 million people, approximately 1% of the population, living in them, the Pew Research said.

Their headquarters is at 1 Glen Bell Way in Irvine, CA. If you go there, you will find a trailer at the corner of a lot that holds an object covered in a big blue tarp.

The object is the very first Taco Bell restaurant. They bought it and uprooted it to keep it from being torn down. So far they haven't figured out what to do with it, but they have it.
