Back in 2016, Dave Portnoy said it loud:
I dont care if hes a joke. I dont care if hes racist. I dont care if hes sexist
My day-to-day life isnt gonna change.
Flash forward to 2025:
Im down $7 million today
Trump has put his tariffs all over the place
Ive been trying to understand them I dont. And everything is in the shitter because of it.
You cheered on the chaos because it made politicians squirm.
Now the chaos squirmed its way into your portfolio and suddenly, you care.

(2,062 posts)I cannot point to a single post where a person on this board celebrated the suffering of someone on our side.
Maybe this will help you understand: when I was in my 20s, I came home over the moon excited that we were e,levying snow. My dad acted like many on this board do. He got upset. He asked if I knew how many accidents happen and people die during a snow storm. I moved down here from Canada. I missed the snow. My heart was happy. My dad pissed all over my sentiment. I had to explain to him I habe nothing to do with the weather. I cannot control it. Imagine having to explain that to a 50+ year old man. I told him I could no more stop it than I can cause it. From then on, I silently celebrated wheat little snow came our way. I am fully aware folks may get in accidents and !maybe get hurt or die. I am not a goddess. It is out of my hands to stop it. I think snow is pretty. I cry almost every time it happens. It brings me such great joy.
Most people know and understand what affects the maga will affect our side, too. We do not live in a bubble, where we are not touched. Maybe you are affected Ted more than most and that is the reason for the sensitivity. I don't know. Whatever the case, it is your reasons and they are totally valid for you. I believe most people who celebrate this are celebrating how maga voted in the orange menace to hurt us. They have !are gleeful social media posts when we are hurt. A lot of them are in shock when they voted for us to get hurt but they got hurt, too. I believe folks are celebrating karma. No one is celebrating our side getting hurt and we understand that they are.

(4,116 posts)of the OP or anyone taking pleasure in the MAGAs experiencing the results of their folly. I am as guilty as anyone of enjoying those who get their just desserts, especially the rich ones.
One can feel that way and also mourn the collateral damage.
If the standard for my posts is to say something that isn't already known, I might as stop posting altogether. I'm not a reporter digging up raw scoops. We are a community, sharing our thoughts and feelings, speaking mostly to the choir.
I feel a tad of criticism to be compared to a Dad who won't let his grown child enjoy snow. I'm sorry that happened to you. Snow is normal, beautiful, celebrated, needed. What the OP is talking about, what Trump is doing to this country, is not in the same category.

(8,939 posts)while we are all affected by Trump's explosive tariff diarrhea, I also find comfort in Trump voter outrage...what I particular relish is smug MAGA congress-critters afraid to face their constituents and their inability to justify Trump's scorched earth insanity...it's becoming more obvious everyday they are terrified of losing their majorities in the House and Senate and rightfully so..and it's becoming more obvious everyday they no longer fear Trump's belching threat of a primary opponent, rather they are scared shitless of their own Republican voters "pulling the lever" for a Democrat...
birdographer
(2,937 posts)can expect re-election. By that time things will be so bad that I believe trump voters will indeed pull the lever for a Democrat. Anything to get out of this abyss.

is gone...I wish only bad on the assholes who voted for and donated to a degenerate...while we Democrats don't deserve Trump's toxic fallout they do...their 12 year old daughters forced to carry their rapist babies to term..oh well...the sexist sons-of-bitches visiting their wives and grandchildren in deportation centers...oh well...millennials who soaked up Rogan/Portnoy believing Trump was "good for business"..oh well...farmers bankrupt because of Trump's tariffs...oh well...white seniors who could lose their Medicare/Social Security...oh well...

(8,295 posts)It gave me pleasure to read these stories floating around online. Now they disgust and annoy me. It just proves what Ive been saying all along. trump supporters are either bigots, immoral or stupid or some combination.
It was never the economy. If you voted for Trump because of the price of eggs, then you are stupid and immoral. Most of them are fucking bigots and dont want to admit it.

Even though I never condone rape, if youre a size 6 and youre wearing skinny jeans you kind of deserve to be raped right? Portnoy wrote in 2010.

Barstool Sports attempted to defend their infamous Blackout Parties on college campuses by saying they dont condone rapeunless the woman is intoxicated (Said Portnoy: "Just to make friends with the feminists I'd like to reiterate that we don't condone rape of any kind at our Blackout Parties in mid January. However if a chick passes out, that's a grey area.)

Ugly, mean, nasty, angry, extreme racist, female hating monsters......
Since the outcome of this last election in November, the Colorado State Patrol has noticed a notable increase in Road Rage here along the northern front range of Colorado from C. Spgs North to Wyoming........crimes with guns is also up........and it is definitely the MAGAot crowd who are NOW EVEN MORE EMBOLDENED to ACT OUT on their feelings of supremacy.....
I ran into my first, face to face, with a MAGAot, Male Karen a month ago, and it boggled my mind......I had seen them on you tube, but never personally witnessed one before then. Un-Fathomable to experience....................and to think there are at least 74+Million more of them out there............

(1,889 posts)I've moved from Boston to Kansas City and it has been a guilty pleasure to see all the old school east coast pizzerias in Portnoy's "One Bite" pizza reviews on Youtube. He's visited thousands of pizza shops all over the new country. He can be a right leaning douche, but he usually stays away from politics in the pizza reviews.
I wonder if someone like Bernie could be an effective ambassador to do episodes with these people (he'd be a natural offering his thoughts on pizza slices in NYC) and help moderate their political stances. Bill Burr is an example of someone who socializes with those people, but has been delivering some great anti-Musk/Trump material. Though, Burr is much more intelligent/witty than most of them to start with.
Now that Trump is tanking their portfolios (and the high profile arrests of innocent people haven't played well either), it could be an opportunity to sway some of these influencers and further erode Dump's support.

I'm down AU $25K, and I'm not even rich, or American!
There goes the money I was saving up for a new car, I was half way there, but now I'm back to staring point.
At the very best, it will have set me back 5 years in my new car plan, so I'm not buying for at least that long.
And that is my contribution to global economic stagflation, or whatever the pundits want to call it when everyone stops spending on stuff that isn't essential to sustain life.
And I do it with a clear conscience - not my fault, not my problem.
