Untested new software installed by DOGE employees crashing Social Security servers: report

Retirees and other beneficiaries of funds distributed by the Social Security Administration (SSA) are having major problems accessing their online accounts since staffers from Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have assumed control of the agency

According to a report from the Washington Post, access to accounts has been unavailable for hours extending into days after new software was installed, with a message popping up reading "Online Service Not Available" and ending there.

As the Post's Lisa Rein, Hannah Natanson and Elizabeth Dwoskin are reporting, "Even when the site is back online, many customers have not been able to sign in to their accounts — or have logged in only to find information missing. For others, access to the system has been slow, requiring repeated tries to get in."

I just called my worthless congressman Andy Harris office at (202) 225-5311 and told him this was unacceptable...........and this is going to be a problem who gave them permission to to do this it takes an act of congress to do this and it takes the Inspector Generals office to see if there is waste fraud ................

..... operations. Then they can build powerful algorithms that will be worth fortunes in the very near future.

This is why they want access to these governmental databases. It is a one stop shopping excursion that costs them little to get a hold off. But potential to make fortunes with the info at their disposal.

A reverse Robinhood tale if you would. Me,... me,.. mine,... FUCK YOU.

I am trying to pay attention to all the conflicting info, and gather it for someone who cares...like maybe Sen. Warren. She started a Soc. Sec. war room.

I was told when I called the office, that I would NOT have to change my sign in method....could use the username and password I established a couple of years ago.

give it a break, these things take time, especially when you don't beta test anything. It's difficult to run a system that big from your cell phone.

Turbinetree, I also responded to your earlier post today, so apologies for sharing here as well. Hoping this helps ~ Assuming you live in Maryland, forget Andy Harris. Instead, contact one of your Senators, Chris Van Hollen or Lisa Blunt Rochester, for help. You’ll have to fill out, sign, and return a release form. Of the two, Senator Van Hollen has the fastest, simplest, and easiest way to do this, so here’s his information: Chris Van Hollen https://www.vanhollen.senate.gov/

To go directly to the form, use this link:
https://outreach.senate.gov/iqextranet/EForm.aspx?__cid=SenVanHollen&__fid=100071

Check Social Security as your topic, type your personal information, your problem, and how you want the Senator to help. Something like, “I need assistance to access my social security account. When I try to sign in, all I get is an unexpected system error message.”
Good luck!

Not being able to access our social security accounts is a BIG problem ... The more people who contact their Senators, the better. Closer Republican to Democrat margins in the Senate. Calls are good. And so are Constituent Services requests for help restoring social security access, constituent by constituent. Let's help Senators feel the DOGE ~
