That was the time to get out into safer protected accounts with 4% return and some also have guarantee of the principle. You can always go back in if it ever stabilizes if you want to .

Apparently someone claiming they had "inside information" from the Convicted Felon's junta saying they were contemplating a 90-day hold on the tariffs caused the markets to rise around 4-5% for about 20 minutes or so.

Me thinks this was done so some folks could do one of two things:

1. Market sell some positions they had while getting some profit, or

2. Set up short sales of stocks, since you normally have to wait until a stock rises before you can short the position.

A normally functioning SEC would be all over this, but in the Convicted Felon's junta....

There may be some in the game waiting for him to act, or not act, that will improve their own position. Like they say, when your enemy is making a mistake, let him.

I think it was around 37,000 Friday(Dow Jones). I think there will continue to be more fluctuation as psycho keeps jerking it and us around.

Here are the numbers for:

Down 1600 at 9:45, up 880 at 10:20, down 906 at 10:40, down 15 at 11:05, down 1036 at 11:30. The rest of the day it fluctuated between 930 down and 97 down before closing down 349.

Why? Uncertainty.

The markets were initially afraid of the prospect of more tariffs, but not only Thump but foreigners signaled that efforts would happen to try to reach compromises about tariffs.

...of the things I thought, but I'll add there may be some bargain hunting by less bearish institutional investors who were intending long term holdings.
