“During the first two turbulent months of President Donald Trump’s term, the White House has shrugged off scrutiny of its most controversial policies with a simple assertion: The American people voted for this,” Politico reports.

“Now, Trump allies and GOP voters spooked by the tariff-induced market crash are beginning to respond en masse: No, we didn’t.”

Said GOP pollster Whit Ayres: “Trump was elected in part to lower inflation and juice the economy. Higher prices and slower growth are exactly the opposite of what Americans voted for.”

1. This is EXACTLY what they voted for.

They didn’t hide any of this. They said they were going to crash the economy. They said they were going to mass deport people. They said they were going to gut the government and all of its services. They said they were going to attack minorities and women.

None of this is a surprise. And no one should be surprised by any of it.

3. What MAGA had hoped for with the crashing of the economy(ies):

1. Redistribution of wealth -- towards THEM. Affordable housing, lower egg prices, better and secure jobs. Guaranteed security for their families and children.

2. An economy that mirrored the 1950's. Husband worked and wife stayed at home to raise the children -- on ONE INCOME.

3. Communities segregated, keeping whites insulated from non-whites. Perhaps a return to restrictive covenants in deeds.

4. Even someone who dropped out of high school would get a good-paying job with security which would allow him to buy a home and send his kids to college.
