(9,897 posts)Its sad and twisted that Wikipedia lists this stuff, complete with graphics and "scorecards" on the right side of the screen, but the severity of ALL Canadian school shootings from 1975 - 2012 is 26 victims. I hope to hell you were just completely unaware of this grisly irony that the TOTAL in Canada is exactly equal to the number of dead just last week in the USA...
eek...the smilies went crazy...
Couldn't have said it better by the way!

(9,897 posts)Yes, Canada has suffered school shootings.
No, they are not on the same level as what just happened in CT.
In fact, you're now getting creepy by re-posting details of them individually...

(17,438 posts)those were links just to SCHOOL shootings...to say that Canada does not have a problem with gun violence is simply not true, regardless of whether you want it to be or not.
Thats the point.

(154,021 posts)Canadians do have parity per population in gun ownership to the US. They also have a negligible dead rate by guns statistically. They play video games, and my dear they also have gun licensing laws that the NRA would have fits.
They have other reasons tat explains a much lower dead rate. Computer games are not the reason for the violence. They are a cop out that comes out every mass shooting.
