We could imagine going through a background check to vote Kaleva Apr 2025 #1
Yeah, guns to voting is not a comparison that is favorable to our viewpoint Amishman Apr 2025 #9
Wonder who would raise hell about that? bluestarone Apr 2025 #2
I can well imagine thousands if not millions of gun-nuts calling, writing, or beating on the doors of congress Ping Tung Apr 2025 #3

The background check, need to show valid ID, and extensive data collection on the purchase paperwork are more involved than the verification needed for voting (and it should be!).

We could require "Real ID" for gun purchases, driver's licenses, and voting. None of these would be too much to ask.
And they would all be beneficial to us as a society.

Real ID has nothing to do with women or women's rights. How did you connect the two?

Women will have to have passport or marriage license or some other legal document proving their married name since it will not match her name on birth document.

It's a back door way of voter suppression.

If this Act were to go through and target just women or just men it would never stand up in court. If, by chance, it did stand up, most of our Nation would be Very Pissed, and there would be action taken quickly to change it. We have come too far as a Nation ever to discriminate that way again.
If gender-neutral, I see no problem with using Real ID as Identification for the activities.
